How to choose an applicant tracking system in Nepal: a 10-point checklist
Every ATS shows a tidy pipeline in the demo. These ten questions show how it behaves with real applicants, real teams and real AI.

Choosing an applicant tracking system is easy to get wrong because every demo looks good. Candidates are tidy, pipelines are short and nothing is overdue. Real hiring is messier. Ask these questions to see how the system behaves when it is.
1. How does the AI make decisions?
Ask whether the AI can reject a candidate on its own. It should not. Look for scores with written reasons and a person making every decision.
2. Can candidates apply easily on a phone?
Most applicants will use a phone. The careers page and application form should work well on a small screen.
3. Are job pages visible in Google?
Each job should have its own page with structured data so Google for Jobs can show it.
- 4. Pipelines: can you set stages per role and see how long candidates wait?
- 5. Interviews: does scheduling create Meet, Zoom or Teams links and collect feedback?
- 6. Offers: can you send offers and collect digital signatures?
- 7. Attention: is there a view of what needs a person today?
- 8. Team access: do roles limit who can see salaries and sensitive notes, and is there an audit trail?
- 9. Setup: how long before the first job is live, and who helps?
- 10. Support: can you reach a real person, in your own timezone?
Navalyst ATS is built around these questions: AI that suggests and people decide, Google for Jobs ready careers pages, Meet, Zoom and Teams scheduling, offers with signatures, a needs-attention dashboard and access control with an audit trail. Book a walkthrough to run the messy-week test on your own roles.
