What your day-end report should tell you in sixty seconds
Sales, cash in the drawer, what sold and what needs attention. A dashboard designed for owners who read it at 11pm.

A good report is not a wall of numbers. It answers a handful of questions quickly enough that you will actually read it at the end of a long night. If you have to hunt for the answer, you will stop looking — and a report nobody reads is just paperwork.
The five questions every owner asks
- How are we doing — against yesterday, last week, last month?
- How much business happened, in sales and in orders?
- What is selling, and what is not?
- What is happening right now on the floor and in the kitchen?
- Does anything need attention — stock, waiting bills, slow tickets?
The Navalyst dashboard is arranged around exactly those questions: key figures first, then sales over time, then the live operation, then products, then exceptions.
A dashboard that is yours
Every restaurant looks at a different number first. So the cards beneath the headline figures — sales by hour, top items, payment mix, live tables, the kitchen, stock — can be dragged, resized and put back to the defaults with one click. Your layout is saved to your login, so it is the same on the office computer and on your phone.

Cash that reconciles
Cash is where small errors hide. The cash drawer shows what you should have, calculated from the opening amount, cash sales and any money paid out, so a difference is visible the same night rather than at month-end.
- 1
Record the opening cash
Start the day with the amount actually in the drawer.
- 2
Let sales and payouts accumulate
Cash sales are counted from payments; money taken out is recorded with a reason.
- 3
Compare at close
The expected balance sits beside what you count. A gap is a question to ask tonight, not next month.
Reports for the days between
- Sales and profit across any date range, shown as simple charts
- Payment mix, channel mix and category mix at a glance
- Wastage and purchases beside sales, so cost is never a surprise
- Exports for your accountant, with the same date filters you were looking at
- Bills you can search, view and reprint
The night you close, with and without a clear report
| Moment | Scrolling through slips | One clear report |
|---|---|---|
| Counting up | Add receipts by hand | Sales, payments and cash already totalled |
| Spotting a problem | After the accountant asks | The same night, on the dashboard |
| Deciding tomorrow’s prep | Guess from memory | Look at sales by hour and top items |
| Explaining to a partner | Photos of slips | One screen both of you can open |
“The best report is the one you will open on a tired night — and trust when you do.”
Take it with you
Because Navalyst POS installs on a phone like an app, the dashboard goes where you go. Check the day from home, see whether a busy Saturday is shaping up, and make decisions with real numbers instead of impressions.
